Definition/ Meaning/ Explanation
A parable from the Greek story, this mental model signifies a marketing technique where the marketer offers a Trojan, a freebie or some discount, to lure the customers to experience their product or service. Some examples are offering one chapter free of a book, or allowing apps with very limited features to run on customers’ mobiles who are then forced to purchase paid features.
