One's tendency to pick information that favors and confirms their ideas and beliefs. It allows us to keep associated with our beliefs no matter how the reality changes or evolved. Falsification on the other hand is the ability to disapprove old belief and ideas that were once considered true because of lack of information or evidence. It's a tendency to search for new information to reject one's own beliefs.
